I think we should run our first marathon together when we get back to the states. How fun that must have been and neat that you got to run with different people and experience their encouragement and happiness. I can imagine how poignant the end of the wheelchair race must have been... Just seeing a handicapped person in Tanzania is sad, but seeing them complete a personal victory like that would be so beautiful! Thanks for posting again! PS - Are Lili and Sarah (from the previous post) new Cradle volunteers? I don't actually know how many volunteers are living in the apartment right now or on the campus.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05348606360703926803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1770062439491157388.post-10403047568008796132011-09-21T19:45:00.559-07:002011-09-21T19:45:00.559-07:00Hi Sis,

I see the beauty in the many distractions that are happening all at once all working towards keeping your mind off of personal running issues...like lack of training, sore feet, or muscles, fatigue etc. Perhaps I should collect running shorts over here and send them to you and you could open up a running shorts store. Perhaps all the jean runners don't even own shorts....hmmmm...or maybe I should try running in jeans again. Maybe there is something to that.CaptainmyCaptainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07137360571624967233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1770062439491157388.post-63099320103045017282011-09-21T11:16:43.339-07:002011-09-21T11:16:43.339-07:00Congratulations Bethany!

It would help me illustrate a lesson we are working on.Cherrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04985646145243827451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1770062439491157388.post-40667279403745326282011-09-21T09:25:36.548-07:002011-09-21T09:25:36.548-07:00Congratulations on completing your first Half Mara...Congratulations on completing your first Half Marathon in AFRICA! How very, very cool! So proud of you! Your description of the racers and wheelchairs...I can nearly see it...When I've been to Boston with Grandpa...I always got teary watching the Wheelchair Athletes, with admiration... So glad you completed it safely, and without major injury! Grandpa always likes to show his blisters...they are kind of like mini medals! Way to go Beth! I am willing to bet that you were the only one from Abbotsford in the race? Yes? :) xoxoAuntie Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12195213258164630103noreply@blogger.com
